Summary:
Tourists run for refuge, cows get a floating buffet of trash to choose from, sensible people pull out umbrellas, rickshaw drivers keep peddling through the flowing water, and the kids strip down to their underwear and run outside and play.

Once the monsoon arrives there is no hiding from it. Tourists run for refuge, cows get a floating buffet of trash to choose from, sensible people pull out umbrellas, rickshaw drivers keep peddling through the flowing water, and the kids strip down to their underwear and run outside and play. All the dust, trash and dead animals that have been waiting for the 1st rains to sweep them on a journey downriver slowly lift and begin their voyage.
I love the monsoon….ok maybe not when it first arrives to flush a city, but the week after is great.

After several years of drought in the southeast all that water almost seems obscene. W#e could certainly use some of that water.
